At Tessco, we’re committed to developing relationships with diverse suppliers (comprised of MBE, WBE, and DVBE), HUBzone Small Business Concerns, and Section 8(a) entities.
A diverse supplier is categorized by several classifications, including, among others, minority, woman, veteran, or disabled veteran owned entities. These businesses must be at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by U.S. citizens who are one or more of the diversity classifications.
We look for diversity suppliers who:
Adhere to our high-quality standards, providing excellent service, competitive pricing, and innovative solutions and/or products.
Have a minimum of three years of business history.
We also work with HUBzone entities and Section 8(a) vendors. HUBzone entities are companies located within one or more qualified census tracts, qualified non-metropolitan counties, or lands within the external boundaries of an Indian reservation. For purposes of this HUBzone designation, Tessco recognizes small businesses that appear on the list of Qualified HUBzone Small Business Concerns, maintained by the SBA. Section 8(a) vendors are small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, which are certified by the SBA to participate in the Section 8(a) program.
